Roses: What was the highlight of the week?

The weekend, for sure. Not in a “live for the weekend” sort of way” but in a “omg, last weekend was AMAZING” way. I’ll be writing more about it later today here, but it was definitely one for the books.

Thorns: What went wrong during the week?

I don’t know if my overall productivity is down or what, but I am simply not getting everything done anymore. I think I really need to do less, but I don’t know where to make the nixes. Ugh. I’m really struggling with the snowball effect here. A couple of weeks ago I only didn’t get 5 things done, but then the following week I didn’t get a lot of more things done and now I’m at like 20 things from last week that didn’t get done.

Buds: What are you looking forward to next week?

This week I’m hoping to go to a local networking tech thing and visit a local coworking space in person! We have friends coming into town and I leave for nearly 10 days of adventures on Saturday. Of course that means I need to pack appropriately and make sure my house is in the appropriate state for those things. On to the week!

  • Write 3 blog posts. (I want to write 15 this month, so 3 this week and 4 every other week this month)

Roses: What was the highlight of the week?

Last week we moved and plunged right into Savannah life and I’m digging it. I still have to a lot to do to really feel settled, but I’m definitely headed in the right direction. I did an Orange Theory class which was cool.

Thorns: What went wrong during the week?

Comcast absolutely destroyed my productivity this week. Fighting with the internet was really rough. Rather than let myself do non-internet things, I really let it get me bogged down. My productivity was poop.

Buds: What are you looking forward to next week?

This will be my first full week here. I have a couple of big calls on the calendar this week. I also have a couple of in-person networking events which are exciting. Plugging in!

Must Get Done This Week

  • Udacity: Finish Project 3
  • Write 2 new blog posts

Roses: What was the highlight of the week?

I got to go to my first technical conference in PyTN! That was so excited, especially because I got to hack away at some cool data science projects. I also got to work on a chatbot and kinda make an OS contribution, kinda. This was a great week.

Thorns: What went wrong during the week?

I had a bit of an epiphany this week that I’m still too scattered. I need to focus more. The problem is that when I have the time to make progress on goals, I’m still faced with making the decision about  what to work on. In that case, I need to just focus on one and there needs to be a clear prioritization. Right now, I NEED to finish my Udacity projects since those have a cut off deadline of Feb 20. That’s what I need to focus on.

Buds: What are you looking forward to next week?

I’m looking forward to finishing this Udacity course! I submitted the final project, got feedback, and need to incorporate feedback. We should have a special Valentine’s Day dinner. Otherwise, I’m hoping it’s just a quiet week!
