I’m an aggressively Type A 23-year-old living just outside of Fort Bragg, NC. I graduated from Princeton University in June 2015 and completed my MBA program in December 2016. I work remotely for a Nashville-based startup. I am currently…
Reading // Zero Down Your Debt by Holly Porter Johnson and Greg Johnson
Watching alone // One Tree Hill, Season 9 (Netflix)
Watching with Casey // Sons of Anarchy, Season 7 (Netflix)
Stitching // My North Carolina Ornament from Needlepoint.com
Last week’s goals:
Finish Grit by Angela Duckworth
I was on such a reading kick this week! I not only finished Grit, which was an amazing read on its own, but I also read Zero Down Your Debt by Holly Porter Johnson and Greg Johnson. Reading is so good for the soul and I’ve really been feeling the benefits of all the reading I’ve been doing.
List all the book reviews that need to be separated into their own posts
Yes! I made the list. This is the first step in getting it done. It’s what I like to call “Foundational Work.” Now back to focusing on actually getting this done, but other work first.
Review all posts in the “Finance” category on BD
I reviewed all posts in the Finance Category to make sure they were actually relevant. This has been a great way to review old content and make sure it has a featured image, is tagged for an affiliate title, and makes sense! This is one of the smaller categories (and it was the last one on the homepage that I hadn’t reviewed), so now I feel much better going into the rest of the site, also knowing that the next chapters will almost certainly be more work.
Finish writing email series
Didn’t touch this.
EBA Module 1, Part 1
I’m on what I’ve named the “twice-timeline” for EBA, meaning that I’m trying to get through the 12 modules of the course over 24 weeks, dedicating two weeks to each. I really struggled with making progress on EBA in the past because of the lack of external deadline. Now, though, I’m part of an accountability group where people are actually participating and so we’ll push each other to stay on track!
Goal Set for March
I always have loved goal-setting, so no surprise I got this done. I shared my March goals on Burke Does in the middle of the week.
This week’s goals:
While I got a lot of things on this list done, I found myself really tired this week. This weekend felt invigorating but mostly because I didn’t do any of the things I needed to. Hell, I didn’t even fold laundry. Going forward, though, I know that my weekends will be occupied with rugby and work on the house (which we should close on this week!!). This lazy weekend spent snuggling on the couch with my Casey and my Bo, babysitting the most adorable two-year-old, and reading a new book was exactly what my soul needed.
